After Werner Holz, who’s next?

Posted on January 10th, 2009

WERNER Holz, an Australian national, was robbed and brutally killed by still unknown suspects in Ajuy, Iloilo recently. He suffered a total of 26 stab wounds, police reported.

It just shows that the world is a dangerous place and people can get killed or die anywhere—drown in their pool, get poisoned or hit by bus.

Before Holz case was the assassination of Ajuy Vice Mayor Ramon Rojas who was shot in broad daylight.

The slain Australian national was married to an Ilongga.

Can we say that the crime was committed due to lack of police visibility? Perhaps, but the PNP is undermanned and lacks equipment to better serve the people. Worse, damu matamad nga police.

Meanwhile, it is a mistake to blame the murder of Holz on racial problem. This violent crime took place in a town with many unsolved crimes.

This incident might scare off some potential tourists.

Who’s next?

Kun indi ma solve ang kaso ni Holz basi ma-inspire pa gid ang iban nga criminal elements dira sa Ajuy.

Your story on Werner Holz asked who is next?. Police and media have already stated that it appears to be an inside job…. so who is looking after Werner’s daughter (and heir?) from his previous marriage who was (is still?) in the house….????

Why to people keep stating Werner Holz was an ex policeman in Australia? What proof do they have of that?

How come the murder of Vice Mayor Rojas of Ajuy is not solved yet? Can someone please ask Secretary Gonzalez why it’s taking him so long to move the case forward? We need to see the Secretary get serious with serving justice to the victims of violent crimes. He seems to be taking his sweet time. I wonder why? Is Secretary Gonzalez the champion of justice or the protector of the mastermind Vicente Espinosa? Just look at reality, the victims are dead, their families are suffering, but the mastermind is free and happy. It’s clear that the bad guy has won so far. What do you say, Secretary Gonzalez? We don’t need to hear you talk, we need to see results, we need to see the mastermind in prison. It’s just math, you do the crime, you do the time. Do you agree Secretary Gonzalez? Stop making it so complicated, we don’t need excuses, we need results. We need to see justice served. That’s the bottom line.

To Secretary Gonzalez: You are the Justice Secretary, so please get the job done, and give justice to the town of Ajuy and the Rojas family for the murder of Vice Mayor Rojas. Isn’t that why we have a Department of Justice, so crime victims can be given the justice they deserve? The police have done a great job; you have everything you need, you have the affidavits, several witnesses and eyewitnesses, it should not take this long to arraign Itik Espinosa and put him in prison. Why are you taking so long? Just consider if Itik Espinosa murdered your son, would you take 10 months to charge him with murder and put him in jail? That’s why people are losing faith in the Department of Justice, because everyone knows Itik is guilty, but the process of getting justice is too slow, it defies common sense. I am so baffled at the slowness of this process. I see Itik Espinosa at Shoemart, walking around as if nothing happened. This should not be the case, he should be punished for killing a Vice Mayor. What is wrong with this picture Secretary Gonzalez? When will you step up to the plate and act with a sense of urgency? Justice should not be made to wait this long.
