MINDANAO posted a higher employment rate than the country in general.
And yet, there are several provinces here with more poor families. In fact, more than half of the population (57 percent) is living below the poverty threshold.
And over the past seven years, only the Northern Mindanao region reduced the number of its poor families.

MINDANAO receives many grants for peace and development, and the assistance never ceases to amaze me because of the impact on the community of major foreign donor-assisted projects.
There is a new program that caught my interest and it is aptly called the Enterprise Challenge Fund (ECF).

I ALWAYS TAKE pride in saying that it is only in Davao City where you can really say that the environment is smoke free and the New Year celebration is noise-free.This is due to the successful implementation of the city ordinances banning the use of firecrackers and pyrotechnics and smoking in public places.
