CDR-King sells defective products?
Posted on September 16th, 2008WHY are some establishments not service and customers-oriented?
When you complain about defective products or poor and lousy service, you would be lucky to receive a sincere and gracious attention. Sometime you hear comments that make you feel like an unreasonably “makulit” customer.
I have yet to meet someone who can honestly say that he has never encountered unsatisfactory service in CDR-KING, or has never come across a product that disappointed him.
Several customers have told this writer of the same problem but they paid no attention.
This was also experienced last week by my Kumpare Vir, a certified public accountant. He tried to return an item he bought from CD-R king, a store for all your computer parts and enhancement accessories at Robinsons Place Iloilo, because it has a problem. Without any clear explanation, he was told that the item couldn’t be replaced.
CD-King has clearly breached their own offer for customers of 7 days warranty for defective items and 3 months warranty service on selected items. The item was in my kumpare’s possession for less than two days but they would not replace it.
An altercation went on between my Kumpare Vir and its sales attendant. He was looking for the manager but he was told that he was not around.
“Ang malain basi ang baisay magkadto sa lampusanay.”
In another case, my Kumpare Syd, a laptop specialist, owner-manager of Compulink computer repair services, in less than 24 hours also brought for exchange the USB stick he bought from CD-R king because it couldn’t work. He expected that the store would appease them because of the warranty card and official receipt he presented.
But he hardly convinced the alien owner.
It seems that CDR King has the policy of “No Return, No Exchange.” Is it fair? Can you please give us some clarifications?
Do we not have laws to protect us? What is the matter with our Department of Trade and Industry?
***
I have read a provision of the Civil Code of the Philippines which clearly provides warranties for hidden defects in the items we buy. There is also the Consumer Act of the Philippines (RA 7394), a law that seeks to address the rights and needs of consumers.
It also states that in the sale of goods, there is an implied warranty or condition as to the quality or fitness of the goods for a specific purpose for which it is being sold.
But the bigger task is for DTI Iloilo to prove how effective are they in implementing our laws in upgrading products and services.
DTI should investigate the CDR-KING if their stocks have passed the products standard quality check.
We won’t allow ourselves to be intimidated and bullied by alien merchandisers here.

all CDR-King outlets are like that, they won’t replace defective products… buti sana if they have computers to test the items before purchase, kaso wala naman… i’ve bought dvd-r and dvd-rw, from them ilang beses na here in QC, khet saang branch eh pare-pareho, it doesn’t work (or i was just not lucky to buy dvd-r/rw from cdr-king that functions)… buti na lng 5 pcs. lang pag bumibili ako, 3x na ko bumili but unfortunately, bigo pa rin ako… super panget talaga ng service nila… though mura lang ung most items nila, but in terms of consumer protection, wala sila nun.

One year warranty un. After mangyari bumalik me sa kanila aking ipinatroubleshoot. Under warranty pa naman.

I have recently encountered a problem with the Wi-Fi router I bought from CD-R King. Apparently, they have a special hotline for those having problems with the installation of the said router.
So I called the wireless assistance [(02) 666-4567] they posted on their website. I was on my best behaviour, I swear I was. The guy on the other line did not even ask for my name, isn’t that a protocol? So there, whatever, he made me do all of this stuff with my modem, laptop and wireless router wires. After some time, I have noticed the change on the tone of his voice. A somewhat annoying, and impatient tone that really ticked me off. I swear, ang bastos. Sarcastic pa ‘yung pagkaka-instruct. Alright, given that, I don’t know anything much about computers and I really need some special instructions, hindi naman reason ‘yun not to be patient diba? At as a Customer Service hotline person hindi ka dapat maging rude or magpakita ng kahit anong sign ng impatience toward the customer. Ang bastos kasi eh, alam mo yun.
Mahal ba bumili ng manners? Mahirap bang magsabi ng ‘po’ at ‘opo’? They have the poorest service. Kung ikukumpara mo sa ibang computer gadget stores, sa kanila ang may pinaka bastos na crew and, what? Pinaka walang kwenta?
One more thing, I have also experienced the poor service of their stores. Hindi lang ‘yung sa service hotline. I have watched them make chismis of their boyfriends while watching a line of 5 people. How pathetic is that?
(02) 666-4567 yung number ng hotline
Nino – name ng nambastos na person
and he has this supervisor who’s as stupid as him.
I hope they all get their Karma someday.
Love,
Hater

Grabe. Their instructions for the WiFi bundle that they sell is fucking not understandable and incomplete. My pops spent 1300 for that and it is not used because we don’t know how to use it. Blame it on the shitty and incomplete instructions. The only thing it does is gathering dust and add to the clutter of my damn room.
What a waste…

i have an experienced also with cdrking na yan, i bought an mp5 player. after overnight nashut down na. i lived far away from davao, worth 2 thou + ung unit. sayang naman . tapos occasional lang me makabalik, sinadya ko na lang e repalce buti na lang, kaya lang after 2 to 3 months nagpakita na ng problems, e hindi nman ganun ka rigid ang gamit. ang keys nasira na agad, until nagshut down ulit. pray ko lang e accomodate nila if magparepair ako dun, re install lang sana ng firmware.
