For Globelines
Posted on July 30th, 2008NOW I am back! I’ve been offline for the past several weeks before the restoration of the Globelines broadband “unlimited internet service” in our home. It all started when my broadband service was disrupted due to my unsettled accounts. So it was understandable, but after I made my full payment to the cashier at SM city business center Iloilo last July 23, 2008, Globelines has assured us that service will be fully restored within 24 hours. Unfortunately, they were not able to make it. It took us 72 hours of waiting for the full reactivation of our internet connections. “Kon bal-an kop lang tan wale ko nagbayad.”
I was calling up Globelines customer service in order to follow up on the reactivation of their internet service ten times a day praying that they keep true to their word that service will be restored within 24 hours. I was able to talk with 10 different customer service representatives (CSR) and even a supervisor named Mr. Nino Tubios. Tubios made a promise to personally work out our internet problem and he would call me on my cellular phone for a quick feedback within that day. Worse, Tubios broke his promise, too! None of the promises were true.
I hope Globelines improves its services. It is a reputable company and I am sure its bosses will take action once they read this valid concern.

For three straight days, from Wednesday to Saturday and every single day the same promises were broken. I can’t help but spend more in the internet café. In effect, I became inconsistent with my column writing. The school projects of my kids that need video editing and other printing jobs turned costly.

Anyway, this taught me a lesson. It opened my eyes. Like other subscribers it made me realize that Globelines is not the only ISP here. Before this experience occurs I even encouraged other friends to sign up for their service. Again the drama went on for three straight days, our broadband service was useless and the same promises of 24-hour restoration never happened. Thankfully, the crew to make a repair job was sent out on or about 6:30 in the evening Saturday July 26, 2008. After which, our broadband service was restored.

If there’s something that is so quick as far as the Globelines services are concerned, well, it’s obviously they’re really fast and quick on sending notices of disconnection.
Worse, Globelines even threaten their subscribers that if no payment will be made within 5 days they have no recourse but to refer it to their lawyers for litigation.

Now we hope that Globelines’ customer service representative Rob Morales whom I talked with would keep true to his word this time around. Morales said Globelines will give us the rebate for the period of service disruptions.
As for me, I am just waiting for the lock-in period to end this year and I’m switching to other reliable ISPs for my internet needs.
