Ka Cadio barks again
Posted on September 26th, 2008PAVIA, Iloilo Mayor Arcadio Gorriceta sounded like a broken record the other day when he barked at the Syjucos anew on Aksyon Radyo because of a column item in this corner that credited Congresswoman Judy, not the mayor, for the DPWH program of work to upgrade with concrete one of Pavia’s many bad roads.
I am sorry to hear that, Mr. Mayor. Why blame the Syjucos for what I wrote? This columnist is not a spokesman but an independent opinion maker. The Syjucos have nothing to do with what breaks into print here.
Sus, Ginoo, these followers of Gloria “Hello Garci” Arroyo are like small kids scrambling for a lollipop.
Would Cadio want GMA to raise his hands for congressman in 2010?
He would not be that suicidal naman guro.

Jumping to RMN Radyo, Ka Kadyo scooped another tsismis: Boy Mejo kuno had been reappointed Syjuco spokesman with a special mission. It’s hard to believe that Boy would reunite with Boboy after all the “inedible” words the former had said against the latter. Moreover, he has two more years left to enjoy his juicy post as provincial administrator.
If Boy could be that doble cara, I could imagine Governor Niel trembling, “Good riddance.”

Most people I have talked are not happy over Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s speech at the United Nations. Like Esperon, while heavy fighting between the Philippine Army and the MILF was going on in Mindanao, she talked of her commitment to peace.
Now the whole world has seen the truth that she is a liar.

Panay Electric to sue power pilferers? Hard to believe; they have not done that before.
The trick is not new. It’s plain and simple harassment aimed at earning double. You see, we good payers have already paid for “system’s loss,” which already includes pilfered power.
Don’t you agree, Randy Pastolero?

Worse than PECO is the Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD), which has been very shrewd in dealing with water consumers. You see, there are places here in Iloilo that has not seen a drop of MWID faucet water for two months already.
But MIWD is very fast in adding insult to injury by collecting P159 per month from us for the “hot air” belching from their waterless pipes. They need the money for honorarium of their board of directors.
Wala huya!

The Games and Amusement Board (GAB) would like Manny Pacquiao to back out of his December 6 match against the bigger Oscar dela Hoya.
Cong. Rufus seconds the motion.
Ano sila, hilo? While this could be Manny’s farewell fight, even if he loses, he would still be a winner. With what he expects to earn, at least US $15 million and biggest in his boxing career, he could retire a “don” for life.
Many other earlier champs have retired wearing a crown but with empty pockets.

Having succeeded in training skilled Filipino workers for overseas employment, TESDA has a new scheme in skills development — the development of skills technology for food sufficiency.
In fact, Dangal ng Bayan 2008 awardee Zenaida Lasangre, an expert in inland fisheries, will be in Iloilo city today. She is reputed to have cultured the biggest tilapia at the Lupon School of Fisheries in Lupon, Davao Oriental.
Come to think of it: If we have a private tilapia pond in the backyard, surrounded by malunggay plants, we would be minimizing expensive trips to the public market.

Why did the BIR choose to sack only three small Iloilo employees?
Answer: The Commissioner is too big for the sack.
